Eunos Emergency Preparedness Day 2008

Eunos Emergency Preparedness Day 2008

Eunos Emergency Preparedness Day 2008 (28/12/08)

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members were conducting their usual patrol when suddenly, smoke was seen gushing out from a unit at Blk 622 Bedok Reservoir Road. Without delay, some went to evacuate the residents while others called for the police and SCDF. The SCDF used the Combined Platform Ladder to rescue residents trapped in their units.

No, wait! This is just an emergency exercise conducted by Zone 3 Residents’ Committee and the Civil Defence Executive Committee. To ensure that grassroots leaders and residents know what to do during an emergency, both committees put in great effort in preparing for Eunos Emergency Preparedness Day 2008.

Residents also enjoyed the carnival where there were games, exhibitions and fabulous lucky draw prizes.

To prepare for the event, Zone 3 RC members went door-to-door to distribute coupons and letters informing residents about the programme. They also had to faciliate the cordoning of the carpark for the setting up of tentage.
